Day 1 - Route 66 HQ to Sattahip (SeaHorse Ferry to Songkhla)

Once tour induction and motorcycle familiarization has been completed the tour gets underway heading along the eastern coast for the short ride down to Sattahip where tour members have private cabins booked aboard the Sea Horse ferry evening sailing to Songkhla.

Dinner will be on board and plenty of time for you to get to know your tour buddies or ask any last questions about the itinerary and sight seeing points before the waves gently rock you to sleep.

Day 2 - Ferry Crossing
Day 2 - Ferry Crossing

Refreshed and invigorated. Breakfast on board the ferry and enjoy the sunshine before we land at Songkhla and a days exploration of the area before finally stopping at our overnight hotel.

Day 3 - Songkhla to Nakhon Si Thammarat
Day 3 - Songkhla to Nakhon Si Thammarat

Post breakfast the tour hits the road for a solid ride of just under 200km as we head north to Nakhon Si Thammarat. It's a great coastal road and runs between the sea on one side and several lakes on the other. Many curves and gentle climbs complemented by a number of coffee stops and points of interest with great photo opportunities.

Arriving late afternoon for dinner and overnight stay at our designated accommodation.

Day 4 - Ferry to Koh Samui
Day 4 - Ferry to Koh Samui

Following a leisurely breakfast it's a nice easy ride of around 100km up to the ferry terminal for the short ferry crossing to Koh Samui . Having loaded the bikes onto the ferry we commence the crossing journey of 1 hour and 45 minutes. Koh Samui has long been a favourite with tourists and backpackers yet there are still places that remain offering the relaxing Thai charm.

An island that delivers fantastic white sand beaches, a plethora of twisting winding roads and elevation changes. The cosmopolitan resorts and small fishing villages with heir hidden beaches are as close to paradise as you can get.

A quality hotel awaits you at the end of the day with a beach side dinner under the stars.

Day 5 - Koh Samui to Surat Thani
Day 5 - Koh Samui to Surat Thani

A nice leisurely morning on Samui, for some last min sights or a long beach walk after breakfast. Then we have the short ride down to the ferry terminal as we carefully stow the bikes on board. Just under a couple of hours later we arrive back on the mainland.

Having disembarked the tour commence a short 70km Surat Thani town. Dependent upon the ferry timings we hope to add a little more ride time in and around the nearby National Park.

Day 6 - Surat Thani to Phuket
Day 6 - Surat Thani to Phuket

A great day's ride across southern Thailand covering around 260km to Phuket Island. We follow the winding and very curvy route 401 that takes us through the Khlong Phanom or Khao Sok National Parks.

After lunch we continue on southward until we cross the Sarasin Bridge and arrive in the beautiful island of Phuket and reach our overnight Hotel.

Arriving late afternoon.

Day 7 - Explore Phuket and relax
Day 7 - Explore Phuket and relax

A day to explore this large popular Island and there is lots to do. A great ride up to the big buddha mountain and then to promthep Cape viewpoint or the smaller but equally beautiful Karon Beach viewpoint. A huge choice of stunning beaches of all sizes, and the cosmopolitan resorts of Patong and Ra Wai plus waterfalls and jungle picnic spots.

The old town in Phuket Town itself has some great architectural features or you may want to visit some of the many local attractions such Phuket aquarium.

After a fantastic day round the Island dinner at our premium hotel whence the days experiences can be shared.

Day 8 - Phuket to Trang

FAQs

Do I have health insurance while on tour?
Our motorcycles are fully covered by third party insurance, however we strongly recommend that you have your own health insurance in place before you arrive in Thailand. Make sure it covers you for Motorbike riding activities.
Do I need an International driving license?
Yes, you must have obtained your own country’s International driving license before your tour begins.
Do I have my own room or do I have to share?
You do not have to share, every rider has their own private room.
Can I bring my partner on tour?
Yes, of course, obviously there will be additional fees.
What happens if my bike breaks down on tour?
Our following support/recovery truck carries a spare bike so you will be swiftly back on the road.
How much luggage shall I bring?
When touring it is always best to travel as light as possible, we have 40 litre waterproof bags which stay on our support truck on extensive tours. All bikes have side panniers for additional storage.
When should we arrive before the tour begins?
If you’re flying from overseas, we suggest you arrive a few days before the tour to help you shake off any ill effects of jet lag.
What kind of food should we expect on the tour?
They serve breakfast at the hotel and this normally comprises several options. Lunch is a light roadside lunch, for dinner options we always endeavor to find a restaurant that offers both Thai and International cuisine.
When riding, do you have to follow the tour guide?
Yes, this is mandatory on our tours, for safety and time keeping. We operate a lead and last policy, each rider will take turns to be the ‘sweeper’ bike at the rear of the pack and notify the lead guide bike of any problems/issues.

There is no doubt that...

There is no doubt that this is one of the best rides I have done in Asia. A great mixture of off road and on road riding around the islands of Phuket and Koh Samui. The off road tracks are well graded and wide enough to handle all but the biggest adventure bikes.

Nick

I had such a blast on...

I had such a blast on the tour! The guides were awesome, super friendly and rad people that I'm sad I didn't get to know better. The accommodations were pretty solid as well, with some nice hotels, and some really nice little bungalows tucked away in the hills of Koh Samui. The food was delicious, and there was always plenty of it. I ate like a fat kid in Thailand...

I have been on a lot of bike...

I have been on a lot of bike tours in my time, this was by far the best by a wide margin. I have done similar tours in Vietnam and Borneo, but this was just fantastic. The guide was great, the food was excellent. The accommodation and support was first class. But what made it so good was that it was so well organized. The way the route was mapped out allowed us to get max pleasure from great scenic rides through very picturesque countryside, with some awesome

I did a 10 day Southern Thailand Explorer tour with my boyfriend, and we had the best time. The rides were difficult at times but also really fun - definitely not boring! The guide was awesome and is a great photographer. We both had a great time, saw amazing places, met cool people (like you!), and had the most amazing time on our first big trip together. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for an adventure in Thailand!
